Breaking bad habits

Okay let’s be honest, we’ve all been at a point to where we get too comfortable at work, realising we have to shake things up in unhealthy routine. Whether your communication isn’t up to scratch, or you have horrid time management. EZHR is not another F****** HR consultancy, we have seen it all and then some.

Here’s a few tips to break out of bad habits in the workplace.

Procrastination

Procrastination is an employee’s worst nightmare, especially when times get busy in the business. Our advice is to order your tasks in priority of set deadlines, slice those tasks down. Struggling to fit the last piece of the puzzle? Teamwork makes the dream work. There’s nothing wrong with asking for a bit of help. Get those big projects done and give yourself a well-deserved treat afterwards.

Poor Communication

We get it, you don’t want to look like you’re not the ideal, golden worker. But good communication is the glue that keeps a team together. Sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know. So if your communication needs a bump up, start off by asking and listening so you can figure out a plan. Maybe consider further training and workshops. Turn your chaos into a well-orchestrated symphony.

Working Long Hours

Wanting to perform well and becoming a go-getter is great. But other times, working too much can be like putting up an umbrella with holes in it. If you are given more tasks than you can chew, set up a meeting with your manager, set boundaries and realistic goals so you can avoid burnout. Separate the work and personal life and balance the scale.

Poor Time Management

Constantly missing deadlines is like playing with fire. So be your own hero, jot down to-dof lists, get your act together and refresh your time management skills. Calendars, planners and focused work sessions can be the make or break to your business goals. Stick to your schedule and review it regularly with the team, your newfound proficiency will be a head-turner!
